Reliance’s Big Bet with Google Cloud for AI Growth in India

Reliance Industries Ltd. has made a partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate AI growth in India. On Friday, 29 August 2025, Muskesh Ambani, the CEO of Reliance Industries, said during its 48th AGM (Annual General Meeting) that the company is entering into a deep tech economy and by 2027, it aims to double its profit.

Reliance and Google Cloud will create a special AI cloud region in Jamnagar. Reliance will design, build, and power this facility using green energy, while Google Cloud will provide its advanced AI computing technology. This cloud center will handle tough AI work and help Reliance innovate faster in many fields like retail, telecom, and energy.

Jio, Reliance’s telecom arm, will connect this cloud center to major cities such as Mumbai and Delhi with high-speed internet. This will let startups, small businesses, developers, and government agencies across India use AI services. Mukesh Ambani said, “Just as Jio and Google came together to democratize the internet for every Indian, we will now democratize intelligence for every Indian.”

Google CEO Sundar Pichai praised this work and said, “Our partnership with Reliance and Jio has been an important part of how we help India’s digital future.” He said their teamwork has already brought affordable internet to millions of Indians, and now they want to take the next big step with AI.

Reliance also announced a new AI joint venture with Meta, Facebook’s parent company, to bring ready-to-use AI solutions to Indian businesses. Ambani said, “Partnering with Meta brings our vision of providing AI to every Indian enterprise to life.” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg called this partnership a step toward making powerful AI tools available to businesses in India.

This partnership of Reliance and Google Cloud shows the strong move of India toward the future of AI.

Together, these partnerships between Reliance, Google, and Meta show India’s strong move into the future of AI. By adding the energy of Reliance and the network strength of Google, India is leading its way toward artificial intelligence innovation.
