Roblox sues banned user for alleged platform abuse

Roblox Sues The Long-Banned User For Allegedly Terrorizing The Platform

According to recent updates, Roblox has filed a lawsuit against a long-banned individual accused of terrorizing the platform and its developer community. The person was originally banned years ago for disruptive and harmful behavior targeting the platform and its users. Roblox Corporation wants Benjamin Robert Simon to stop harassing its employees and users, both on and off the platform. Along with this, they have also said that the person will have to pay around $1.65 million in damages.

In a filing first reported by Polygon, alleges that Simon, a long-banned user, is the leader of a “cyber mob” who engages in and encourages unlawful acts intended to harm the platform and its users. Simon was banned years ago—allegedly for using slurs, harassment, and sexual misconduct. Despite this, he reportedly kept accessing Roblox. In fact, he did so by using or even hacking into other users’ accounts. The lawsuit claims his actions have had a disruptive and damaging impact on the Roblox community.

Roblox has tens and millions of users on a daily basis and many of them are kids as well. Keeping all the trolls away from the trolls as far away as possible from the platform becomes very important to help protect the platform’s young audience. The lawsuit is there to follow an outage that knocked Roblox offline for three days. This is ultimately why Roblox decided to take legal action against Simon.
