Aasif Sheikh was born on November 11, 1964, in Delhi. He studied at Saint Anthony School and spent his childhood in Varanasi in his hometown. He graduated in Bachelor of Arts in English Honours from Delhi. Then shifted to Hotel Management but dropped out to pursue theatre and joined the Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA) in Mumbai. Sheikh first appeared on TV as Prince Ajay Singh in Hum Log (1984-1985), the first daily soap opera to air in India. In 1988, he made his debut in films in Rama O Rama and began his career journey.
