Dimple Kapadia came to the earth on June 8th, 1957, in Mumbai, in a Gujarati family. Her father, Chunibhai Kapadia, was a businessman. She hails from the Khoja family, who embraced Hinduism but consider themselves part of the Shia community, with Aga Khan as their preceptor. She was named Ameena at the time of birth by Aga Khan III. Dimple Kapadia is the eldest of four siblings, brother Suhail Kapadia, and sisters Reem Kapadia and Simple Kapadia. All three siblings have passed away. 

After her unhappy marital experience with Rajesh Khanna, they separated but never filed for divorce. Two years after her split, she returned to the acting field and resumed her career with the film Saagar in 1984. The film was a hit and resurrected her career from the dead. She won Filmfare Award for both films, Bobby and Saagar, Best actress. After hard work for a decade, she managed to establish herself as a successful and leading actress in Hindi cinema.
