After months of speculation, it’s officially been confirmed that Dynasty is being canceled after Season 5. Netflix’s decision to cancel Dynasty wasn’t entirely a surprise to the faithful audience who have watched the show since Season One.

Dynasty, which first premiered in 2017, was conceived as a reboot of the same name. It followed Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) and Celia Machado (Nathalie Kelley) and their high-society adventures. As the title suggests, it was all meant to revolve around the dynasty of hope.

But despite a smart premise, Dynasty never quite lived up to the standards set by its predecessors. With the allowances that the COVID-19 pandemic made the writing and the production of every show a little harder and more inconsistent, Dynasty floundered in the past few seasons, leading to the cancellation of the show after season 5.
