The 43-year-old actress, Evangeline Lilly, said on Instagram that she went to a demonstration in Washington, D.C. this weekend in favour of “bodily sovereignty” – a protest against COVID-19 vaccination regulations. It was reportedly the same Sunday event when Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a passionate anti-vaxxer, made headlines by equating vaccination requirements to the Holocaust.
Evangeline Lilly says it is not a good situation
Lilly tweeted on Thursday, “This is not the way.” “This is not a safe situation.” This isn’t good for you. This isn’t love at all. I recognise that the world is fearful, but I don’t believe that confronting fear with force can solve our issues. Before COVID, I was pro-choice, and I am still pro-choice now.”
Lily outraged and angry
Lilly faced outrage when she proclaimed on Instagram at the outset of the pandemic in March 2020 that she was refusing to socially separate herself “all in the cause of a respiratory illness.” She then apologised for her remarks on social media. “I want to express my sincere and heartfelt apologies for my earlier post’s insensitivity. To the very real misery and terror that has engulfed the world as a result of COVID19,” Lilly said at the time. I felt I was bringing some serenity to the chaos. I can now understand how I was putting my own concerns onto an already stressful and frightening scenario.”
Vaccine not healthy as per Lily
The CDC advises that all persons who are eligible get the COVID-19 immunisation, stressing that major side effects are extremely rare. The CDC noted, “Millions of people in the United States have received COVID-19 immunizations. Under the most rigorous safety monitoring in US history. It’s also worth noting that whereas pharmaceuticals normally pass FDA safety studies after being tested on 3,000 or fewer individuals. COVID vaccinations have been administered to approximately 5 billion people globally. Moreover, despite the vaccinations’ lower effectiveness in preventing the spread of the omicron form, recent studies have shown that they significantly reduce the risk of serious disease or death.
