Google Rebrands Bard as Gemini with $20 Premium

On Thursday, February 8, 2024, Google Bard announced its decision to rebrand its Bard Chatbot to Gemini and launch a dedicated mobile application for Android and iOS. Along with the announcement came the release of Gemini Ultra 1.0, the most vast and capable version of Google’s language models.

Initiated this week, the availability of Gemini extends to 150 countries and territories in English. Besides, Gemini Advanced comes with a part of the Google One AI premium plan that starts at $19.99 per month, along with a two-month free trial.

In addition to that, in a press release, the search engine revealed that the chatbot will be available in 40 languages, and the version with Ultra is named Gemini Advanced. Moreover, the application features include reasoning, following instructions, coding, and collaborating creatively. Moreover, Google claims it is a “personal tutor” that can be tailored according to your preferences.

“Most preferred chatbot compared to leading alternatives in blind evaluations with third-party raters,” claimed Google about its recently updated Gemini Advanced with Ultra 1.0.

If you are using Gemini on Android or Google Assistant, you can access the assistant by clicking the power button or corner-swiping on one phone

“For years, we’ve been investing deeply in AI as the single best way to improve Search and all of our products. We’re excited by the progress, for example, with our Search Generative Experience, or SGE, which you can try in Search Labs. AI is also now central to two businesses that have grown rapidly in recent years: our cloud and workspace services and our popular subscription service, Google One, which is just about to cross 100 million subscribers,” wrote Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, about the AI chatbot.

In the company blog post, Pichai claimed that almost one million workspaces are already using features like Help Me. In addition, he mentions plans to rebrand Duet AI for cloud customers in the coming weeks.
