Netflix’s original series, The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself, followed the origin of the eponymous novel Half Bad by Sally Green, which premiered on October 28, 2022. It quickly found its way to TokTok, where a campaign began to ensure that the show would be renewed for a second season, and its songs garnered a massive audience.
Ultimately, all those efforts fell short because, in December 2022, the OTT giant Netflix announced that The Bastard Son & the Devil Himself had not been renewed for a second season. This highlights an infuriating trend that came into the public eye with a series of Netflix cancellations.
Although Season One of The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself earned positive reviews at the box office, the series was cancelled. The popular series earned 92 percent from critics and 91 percent from audiences. Additionally, it received 7.5 ratings on IMDB.
