Following an independent inquiry prompted by a complaint from his co-star. James Snyder has been sacked from the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
On Nov. 19, producers received a complaint about Snyder, who portrays Harry Potter in the programme. Diane Davis, who plays Harry’s wife, Ginny, concerning his “behaviour,” according to the producers.

“The producers immediately commissioned an independent inquiry by a third party after receiving this allegation, and Mr. Snyder was suspended until the outcome of the investigation,” they stated. “At the conclusion of the inquiry, the producers determined that Mr. Snyder should not be rehired and his contract was cancelled.”

Producers want a safe environment
“We are dedicated to promoting a safe and inclusive workplace. Which is why we have comprehensive workplace standards and procedures in place for all those engaged with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” the Cursed Child’s producers noted. This includes clear anti-harassment policies in all forms. As well as methods for any employee to report activity they think is improper. We’ll keep doing everything we can to make sure the incredibly brilliant staff behind this production feels secure, empowered, and completely supported.”
Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender, and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions presented Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Which originally opened as a two-part production but was reinvented as a single-ticket performance last year.
Snyder has also appeared on Broadway in shows such as Cry-Baby, If/Then, and In Transit. In addition to The Good Wife, Rizzoli & Isles, Blue Bloods, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Drop Dead Diva, he has appeared in episodes of The Good Wife, Rizzoli & Isles, Blue Bloods, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Drop Dead Diva.
