Joss Whedon has replied to allegations of bad behaviour levelled against him by various members of the “Justice League.” When director Zack Snyder had to walk away due to a family issue, the filmmaker took over production of the 2017 superhero blockbuster. Ray Fisher, who played the superhero Cyborg in the film, stated in the summer of 2020 that Whedon was “abusive” and “unprofessional” while working on it.
Meanwhile, Fisher’s “Justice League” co-star Gal Gadot said that Whedon “threatened” her career. Fisher’s co-star Jason Momoa, who also featured in the film, backed her accusations, stating they were treated “s—-ty” on production. Whedon has since maintained his innocence and denied any misconduct.

“We’re dealing with a terrible power,” Whedon said in an interview with New York magazine. “In all respects, we’re dealing with a poor actor.” He also claimed that he did not change the colour of Fisher’s skin, but rather lightened the overall aesthetic of the film.
Fisher, 33, responded to the news on Twitter on Monday, writing, “Looks like Joss Whedon got to direct an endgame after all… Rather than addressing all of the falsehoods and nonsense today, I’m going to honour Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. The work will resume tomorrow.

Whedon also disputed that he had endangered Gadot’s career. “I tend to be overly flowery in my speech because English isn’t her first language,” he explained. Gadot, 36, is an Israeli actress.
The two were discussing a sequence that Gadot wanted to remove, according to the director. To delete the sequence, Whedon told her she’d have to tie his body to a railroad track.

“Then I was informed I mentioned something about tying her to the train track and her dead corpse,” Whedon stated. “I understand totally,” Gadot wrote in an email to the magazine.
