Jugnuma, starring Manoj Bajpayee, is releasing on September 12. The film is based on a magical realism drama.
This magical realism drama film is internationally titled ‘The Fable’. Jugnuma is directed by Raam Reddy, who earlier won a National Award for his debut Kannada film ‘Thithi’. Jugnuma premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and received the best film award at the Leeds International Film Festival. At the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, it also received a special jury prize.
Guneet Monga Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap are the executive producers of the film. Jugnuma’s cast members include Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, Hiral Sidhu, and Awan Pookot.
Manoj Bajpayee is an Indian actor, works mostly in Hindi movies. He has received many honors, but some of the notable ones are two Asia Pacific Screen Awards, four Filmfare Awards, and four National Film Awards. He also received the Padma Shri in 2019. Manoj belongs to a small village and pursued acting even after the National School of Drama rejected him several times. Bajpayee had a breakthrough plus received broad praise with the 1998 film Satya. Some of his iconic films are Aligarh, Pinjar, in addition to Gangs of Wasseypur, which featured in The Guardian’s list of 100 best films.
Based on the story, ‘The Fable,’ set in the 1980s, shows the journey of Dev (Manoj Bajpayee), a man who starts to notice mysteriously burned trees in his fruit orchard. He is compelled to face more realities about his family and himself as he battles to put out the fires.
The film has already been recognized in different countries due to its gripping storyline and breathtaking acting from the star actors.
