Lakshmi Menon Denies Assault Allegations, Says It Is To Harm Her Reputation

Lakshmi Menon strongly denies all the assault and kidnapping allegations and states that they are being made to destroy her reputation. The court has given her detention till September 17. 

Who is Lakshmi Menon?

Lakshmi Menon is an Indian actress known for her Tamil and Malayalam films. She was born on 19 May 1996 in Kochi. She started her career in 2011 with her first Malayalam film, Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya. Some of her iconic films are Jigarthanda, Kumki, Vedalam, Rekka, etc. She also won many awards. Some notable achievements Lakshmi has earned are the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Award, Chennai Times Film Award, and Tamil Nadu State Film Award, among others. 

Lakshmi Menon Assault Case Overview

She has strongly denied the accusations of kidnapping and assault. According to her, the complaint was made to harm her reputation. The Kerala High Court granted her anticipatory bail, preventing her from being arrested till the time additional hearings are held. The court order prohibits her detention until September 17, 2025.

The police complaint states that the incident happened on August 24. Following an argument at a bar in Kochi, a tech worker claimed that near the railway bridge, a group of people, including the actress, followed them. The group chased his car and took him by force, and attacked him inside their car. There are three other co-accused who were arrested. 

Lakshmi Menon denied all of the charges in her bail request, claiming they were made up to damage her reputation. The case has been charged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. 

Conclusion

The investigation of the case is still ongoing. Police officers continue the evidence-gathering process against all the accused. The court will decide the matter after it evaluates the evidence and hears the testimonies. For now, the interim relief the Kerala High Court gave provides Menon with some protection.
