The new season of Panchayat is officially scheduled to be available in 2026 on Amazon Prime Video. It will continue the path of the heartwarming and relatable, and touching journey of Phulera village and your favorite characters.
The new season will feature some of the previous season’s characters, such as Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi, Raghubir Yadav (Brijbhushan Dubey), Chandan Roy (Vikas), Faisal Malik (Prahlad Pandey), and Sanvikaa (Rinki).
It is possible that, like the previous seasons, Panchayat season 5 will also be available on Amazon Prime Video and, as such, will be accessible to a large audience.
Season 1 of Panchayat shows the life of Abhishek Tripathi, a freshly graduated engineer who ends up being the secretary of a village panchayat in Phulera in Uttar Pradesh. Having problems and with the lack of facilities, he has to deal with strange situations while getting ready for the CAT exam. His frustrations and his slow adaptation to village life are depicted in the season, and the first season is a combination of comedy and social commentary.
Panchayat season 2 makes Abhishek Tripathi even more deeply connected with the politics of the village. With humor and emotional scenes, the season displays friendship and small-town life and concludes without knowing what Abhishek will do, and what will happen with the Panchayat elections.
Season 3 of Panchayat picks up with Abhishek Tripathi when he is transferred. He is planning to resign, but is put on hold when the corrupt MLA Chandrakishore Singh is arrested, and Abhishek is sent back to Phulera. The season ends on a dramatic note as Abhishek is arrested in the ensuing confusion, triggering the coming political chaos and the next elections in the village, the Panchayat.
The season shows the clashes of power and politics, which gives the series a new touch of political drama. The main character Abhishek Tripathi, a secretary in the village, is caught in this mess as he also tries to control his personal life, which includes his anxieties about his CAT exams and a relationship that is slowly forming with Rinki. After all the chaos, there are still laughs and touching moments, which increase the spirit of the show.
Altogether, Season 4 combines the rural atmosphere and the toughness of politics, presenting the loyalties and betrayals of the characters. The season sets the excitement for the next season 5.
The other season is expected to be a huge success based on the great success of Season 4, which was released on June 24, 2025. The official trailer of Season 5 has not been released on any channels yet.
The simplicity and realness of the show are the reasons for its attraction. Contrary to most modern shows that are based on drama, the strength of Panchayat lies in real-life things and emotional character relationships, which is why it is a favorite show in India and beyond. Season 5 is expected to provide new plot lines and answers to the questions that remain open in the previous seasons.
