Another company is temporarily cutting down its service from the Russian nation. Crunchyroll is the other service that is temporarily cutting the Russian market off from its services and this step has only been taken following the country’s invasion of Ukraine. On Friday only, the Sony company said that the unit blocked Russian users from accessing its Crunchyroll anime streaming service. This means that the people of Russia will not be able to get access to this service and said it would halt the home entertainment release of films like Spider-Man: No Way Home with the Russian nation. Therefore, these are the important updates that have been coming in front of the people after Variety reported it.

Probing further, the company previously has also said that it would not release its upcoming slate of theatrical films in the country. Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Tony Vinciquerra said in an email that we are standing with a number of businesses around the world who have now paused their business operations in Russia and with all of this, we also support the humanitarian efforts currently underway in Ukraine surrounding regions. In addition, Vinciquerra went to the employees to tell them the company was also halting future TV distribution deals.
However, the timing for the Crunchyroll suspension is not known yet. Following all of this, Sony’s $1.175 billion deal to buy the platform in 2020 the company has started adding titles from its Funimation catalog at the start of March. Through the notice that has been spotted by ComicBook, Crunchyroll told Premium subscribers in Russia that it is not going to charge them for service while the platform is unavailable in the country. Meanwhile, it is worth saying that Sony’s PlayStation division had already halted hardware and software sales before the decision.
