Indian American engineer, entrepreneur, politician, and anti-vaccine activist Shiva Ayyadurai expressed his interest in taking up the position of Twitter CEO. Shiva’s tweet came after Elon Musk wished to step down. Shiva Ayyadurai invented email at the age of 14.
Ayyadurai expressed his interest in the position via a tweet in which he stated that he had four degrees from MIT and has founded seven successful high-tech software companies. His tweet gained attention and many users responded, some encouraging while some sarcastic.
Greg Autry, author, and professor at Imperial College responded to Ayyadurai’s tweet saying according to his observation, a degree is one last thing Elon Musk looks at when hiring.
Ayyadurai is well recognised for his highly disputed claim to have invented email. He stated that in 1978, when he was 14 years old and attending Livingston High School in New Jersey, he authored the code for an electronic communication programme known as email. His software includes all the functions like Inbox, Outbox, Attachments, Memo, Folders, address book, etc.
In 1982, the US government granted him the ‘first copyright for email’ in recognition of his status as the official ‘inventor of email’.
Prior to Ayyadurai, YouTuber MrBeast also expressed his interest in taking up the post via a tweet on December 22. To which Elon Musk replied, “It’s not out of the question”.
Elon Musk is actively searching for a new CEO after losing his poll on Twitter. He asked whether he should step down as head of Twitter. Musk said he will abide by the results of this poll.
A whopping 57.5 percent of people voted for him to step down from the post of Twitter CEO. Musk tweeted that he will resign after he finds someone foolish enough to take the job.
