As per the updates of oscars 2022, it has been found that this is the first streaming movie to claim the film industry’s top honor, CODA also won the adapted screenplay prize. The screenplay prize has been won by the director Sian Heder and the supporting actor award for Troy Kotsur. It has further been found that the win of CODA has been overshadowed by a shocking moment when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after the comic made a joke about their wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Later on, they went on to accept the award for best actor in a dramatic speech. After all this in the show, there is a confrontation, Smith apologized to the Academy.
Probing further, we can see that Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family. There was a proper tearful speech about all this by his win for portraying the Williams sisters’ father in King Richard. Through a statement posted on the Twitter account, the Academy said it “does not condone violence of any form” and stressed that this is the night that is all there to celebrate for the winners. It was also said that the winners deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world.
Meanwhile, we would all let you know that LAPD confirmed that Rock declined to file a police report about the slapping. There was also a statement in which it was said that the involved party desires a police report at a later date and LAPD is there going to complete an investigative report.
