Actor Yami Gautam recently stated that she has stopped attending “current filmy awards” and called them fake. She expressed how happy she was to know about actor Cillian Murphy won the Best Actor award for Oppenheimer at the 96th Academy Awards.

Yami congratulated Cillian Murphy on X and wrote, “Having lost faith in today’s fake ‘filmy’ awards, I stopped attending them a few years ago, I stopped attending them, but today I am feeling happy for an extraordinary actor who stands for patience, resilience & so many more emotions.”

Cillian Murphy Shines At Oscars

Cillian’s film Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, was crowned Best Picture at the Oscars. His blockbuster biopic got the Best Supporting Actor Award for Robert Downey Jr. and the Best Director Award for Nolan. 

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded Oppenheimer the top prize for a highly viewed, big-budget studio picture, something it hasn’t done in over ten years. “We all live in Oppenheimer’s world, for better or worse,” Murphy remarked in his victory speech. He also said that this is a dedication to the peacemakers.
