Overview of Batwara: 1947
Batwara 1947 is set against the backdrop of the Partition of India in 1947. The journey of Sikander Mirza, a Muslim refugee from Lucknow, as he and along with his family settle in Lahore. She is not ready to leave her beloved home, and this makes her tense with Sikander.
However, as communal hatred begins to pervade, Sikander starts to prioritize compassion over anger and begins to save Mai’s life.
