One of the most talked-about shows on the internet, Koffee with Karan Season 8 wrapped up with its final episode. For the grand conclusion, Karan Johar invited Sumukhi Suresh, Kusha Kapila, Danish Sait, and Tanmay Bhat to join him as he presented the Koffee with Karan Awards for the season.
For season 8, Johar has been quizzing guests on his couch about their love lives and love interests before the camera. With the promise of manifestation, he could make stars confess on the couch.
The guests, which included Kusha Kapila and Tanmay Bhat, also voted the best moments and the best performances of the show.
The event kicked off with the Rapid-Fire Round Awards, a category voted as the most entertaining part of the show. This year, the award had two nominees: Saif Ali Khan and Ananya Pandey. Ultimately, Ananya Pandey won — despite having lost the actual rapid-fire round to Sara Ali Khan. “I’d like to thank a certain ‘boy Kapur’ for that,” Ananya joked during her acceptance speech.
Subsequently, for the award “Best Episode of the Season,” there were a total of five nominations solely based on the episodes with the highest ratings. The episodes featuring Rani Mukerji-Kajol, Kareena Kapoor-Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn-Rohit Shetty, Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone, and Varun Dhawan–Sidharth Malhotra, competed. Later, Rani Mukerji-Kajol’s episode was chosen as the winner.
The most popular episode of the season that featured Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone won “The Special Jury Award.” “In my entire Koffee with Karan journey, I’ve never experienced a moment that felt so real,” Johar shared. “It was as if the cameras weren’t even rolling — something truly genuine came out.” It was cathartic for me, in a strange way,” said Johar about the episode.
Moving on, Saif Ali Khan went on to win the ‘Best Performance-Male Award’ and to announce Saif’s win, the host called Kareena Kapoor Khan. On the contrary, the ‘Best Performance-Female Award’ was won by Deepika Padukone. Last but not least, Varun Dhawan grabbed the “Best Koffee Burn” award for calling Karan Johar “Karan Johar Ghar-Tode” and “Komolika.”
Although the talk show doesn’t have a specific winner award, it announced Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan as Best Performance Male and Best Performance Female, respectively.
