How To Remove the “Open to Work” Tag From a LinkedIn Profile

LinkedIn has made job hunting in today’s scenario quite easy. Instead of reaching out to recruiters, you can display it on your profile through the “Open to Work” feature so the hiring managers can contact you. So what happens if you decide to remove this feature from your profile? Removing this option will prevent users from receiving continuous messages from recruiters.

Reasons to remove “Open to Work” from LinkedIn

There might be many reasons to remove the already-used feature of “Open to Work” on LinkedIn.

You landed a job

If you have found a job, you might want to turn this feature off, as the contact messages from recruiters are not in use anymore.

You stopped looking for a job

You might not want to receive messages and offers if you are not actively looking for jobs. Removing the “Open to Work” tag from your profile will prevent you from getting these messages.

Privacy concern

If you put the “Open to Work” tag on your profile, it might warn your current employer. Removing this tag will help you hide from your current employer that you are looking for jobs elsewhere.

Unwanted offers

You may have gotten offers that do not align with your expectations and industry standards, so you might want to remove the tag from your profile.

Want to have control

You might prefer to have control over who can contact and who cannot. Removing this feature gives users more control over their profiles.
