Faisal Khan, known by his title “Khan Sir”, is an Indian teacher and social worker. He did his primary schooling at Bhatpar Rani, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. After passing 8th grade, he was influenced to join the Indian Army. Owing to this, he took an entrance exam for Sainik School in 9th Standard; nevertheless, he failed to clear the exam. Initially, his three friends, Hemant, Sonu, and Pawan, helped him get tuition. They took him to a coaching institute, where he began his career by teaching six students. Only months later, the coaching earned popularity among aspirants due to Khan Sir’s unique teaching style. In less than a year, his batch expanded from six students to 150 students. Later, owing to his popularity with “Khan Sir,” he adopted it in the coaching business, Currently, he has a coaching centre in Patna named Khan GS Research Centre, where he teaches UPSC, BPSC, Indian Railways, and SSC aspirants.

Following his success in tutoring, he initiated a YouTube channel named ‘Khan GS Research Centre’. My Name is Not Khan?
In 2021, after a round of controversies circulated by Khan Sir following his YouTube video about France-Pakistan relations, many social media netizens slammed him as “Islamophobic.”
Meanwhile, during the same controversy, a section of netizens reported that Khan Sir’s real name is “Amit Singh.”
However, soon after the rumour arose, Khan itself cleared it by uploading a YouTube video about it. Meanwhile, in the video, he was seen saying that his real name is not Amit Singh. Moreover, in the same video, while addressing the rumours, he said he’d reveal his name soon.
FIR Against Khan Sir
In 2022, protests arose across Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh for the cancellation of the Railways Recruitment Boards Non-Technical Popular Categories Examination (NTPC). Nevertheless, in October 2022, an FIR mentioned five teachers, including Khan Sir and 16 students of his coaching institute, allegedly encouraging the mob to set the train on fire.
