Son of a veteran action director and the most desirable man of 2025 by The Times of India, Vicky Kaushal is a well-established Indian Film actor. He is famous for his work in the film ‘Uri’ and for marrying actress Katrina Kaif.
Vicky Kaushal was born on May 16, 1988, in a chawl in Malad, Mumbai. His family is originally from Hoshiarpur, Punjab. His father, Sham Kaushal was an action director. Due to financial struggles, his father didn’t want him to do unstable business and was very keen on his studies. During an Industrial visit to an IT company during his graduation, Vicky realized he had no interest in office work or corporate jobs. He decided to make a career in the film industry.
Vicky began studying acting at Kishore Namit Kapoor’s academy. At the same time, he worked in theatre with Manav Kaul’s Aranya group as well as Naseeruddin Shah’s Motley productions.
icky entered the film industry as an Assistant Director to Anurag Kashyap in Gangs of Wasseypur. His debut film was Anurag Kashyap’s Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (2012), and he played a minor role in that film. Then he did some minor roles in Bombay Velvet (2015), and the short film Geek Out (2013).
His first leading role was in Masaan (2015), a drama film directed by Neeraj Ghaywan.
