The makers of the film ‘Kalki AD 2898’ dropped a short clip introducing Amitabh Bachchan as the immortal Ashwatthama. The netizens are going gaga over his look. Nag Ashwin directs the sci-fi film. Indian mythology describes the character Aswatthama as immortal.

The clip introducing Aswatthama depicts Amitabh having a conversation with a young boy. Amitabh’s de-aged version also catches the internet’s attention. The actor has a long beard, a mustache, and long hair with a yellow stone on the forehead.

Amitabh took to X and shared his character poster from the film, writing, “It’s been an experience for me like no other. The mind to think such a product, the execution, the exposure to modern technology, and above all, the company of colleagues with stratospheric Superstar presence.”

The filmmakers unveiled the film’s teaser on Sunday. The movie was released on June 20, 2024. Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Hassan will play key roles in the film. Disha Patani and Prabhas shot a song for the film in Italy.

The film starts with Mahabharat and ends in 2898 AD. It spans 6,000 years in time. We tried to create worlds, imagining what they would be like while still keeping it Indian and not making it look like Blade Runner. Six thousand years behind 2898 AD is 3101 BCE, which is when the last avatar of Krishna is believed to have passed.
