In Season 4 of Outer Banks, we’ll see the return of certain fan-favorite characters and the continuation of the Pogues’ storyline. The popular Netflix series followed a group of adolescents from the working-class Pogue community as they joined the rich seasonal Kooks community to find a buried treasure. On April 15, 2020, the first episode of Outer Banks Season 1 debuted on Netflix. Season 3 of Outer Banks has been available on Netflix worldwide for a while, and the viewership numbers support the early renewal for a fourth season. Let’s know about Outer Banks season 4.
The plot of Outer Banks Season 4
Having been lauded for their finding of El Dorado, the Pogues are granted the chance to go on a new journey, ostensibly in quest of the legendary pirate Blackbeard’s buried riches, as hinted in the season three finale.
Actress Bailey told PEOPLE that the rebooted treasure quest represents a “fresh start” for the series. She hinted, “[Fans] shouldn’t interpret it as the end of an era, but we are very much summing up seasons one and two with a button.”
She stated of the next season, “It can go really anywhere.” That’s why I say, “I think we have a bit of a clean slate.”
She is rooting for the Pogues to have a “solid win” in the next season. She said, “With the [season 3] finale we’ve had our treasure hunt fun, which was kind of just to help John B and also to help Pope’s family, and this kind of feels like a job opportunity.”
I hope they meet this new challenge with greater maturity and insight, and I look forward to seeing how their relationships develop.
In addition, Josh has hinted that several flashbacks in the future season would bridge the 18-month time shift. “We felt like we needed to migrate them out of school,” he told Tudum. The first three seasons were conceived of as a trilogy, and now we’re embarking on a second trilogy. We just had to make some room. We’re starting again with fresh bad guys, a new treasure quest, and a new life.”
Is Season 4 of Outer Banks coming out soon?
Deadline reported on February 23, 2022 that Netflix has renewed Outer Banks season 4. Netflix has faith in the show since they renewed it only days before the Season 3 launch. The announcement was made during the Huntington Beach, California Poguelandia Fan Event.
According to a What’s on Netflix listing sourced from ProductionWeekly, production for Outer Banks Season 4 was set to begin on May 30 and end on December 15.
However, whether the current Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike impacted the program must be clarified. If that’s the case, we may have to postpone the release of Season 4.
Season 2 concluded filming in April 2021, and the new season debuted on July 30. Season 3 concluded production in September 2022 and debuted on February 23, 2023.
The speed with which the program went from recording to airing bodes well for Outer Banks season 4. Due to the setback in May, the most promising window for Season 4’s release is between the spring and summer of 2024.
