Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Bhutan. He is scheduled to attend various programs that are taking place to improve the India-Bhutan bilateral partnership.

PM on Friday took to X and shared a picture of him going to Bhutan; the caption of the post read,

On the way to Bhutan, where I will be attending various programs aimed at further cementing the India-Bhutan partnership. I look forward to talks with Majesty the King of Bhutan, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and Prime Minister @tsheringtobgay.

The visit was initially scheduled for March 20–21, but due to adverse weather conditions, the visit was postponed.

The Prime Minister of Bhutan shared a post on X and welcomed PM Modi to Bhutan and wrote, “Bhutan main aapka swagat h, mere bade bhai @narendramodi ji.”

On Friday, a group of Bhutanese young people welcomed Narendra Modi to their country by performing a garba dance in traditional Indian attire.

In Thimpu, PM Modi will inaugurate the Gyltsuen Jetsun Pema Mother and Child Hospital, which was built with the assistance of the Government of India.

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that India and Bhutan share a “unique and enduring partnership which is rooted in mutual trust, understanding and goodwill. The purpose of the visit is to share views on bilateral and regional matters of interest and find a path to increase and boost the partnership for the sake of the people.

“The visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Bhutan and the government’s emphasis on its ‘Neighbourhood First Policy, the MEA said.
