Tannishtha Chatterjee is an Indian actress and director born in Pune. Chatterjee is well-known for her numerous independent films and her distinctive personality. She had got a National Award for her role in the film Dekh Indian Circus. She was also nominated for the best actress at the British Independent Film Awards for Brick Lane. Some of her popular movies are: Road, Movie, Dekh Indian Circus, Doctor Rakhmabai, etc. For her film Doctor Rakhmabai, she won and was nominated for multiple awards.
Recently, on her Instagram post, she revealed that she has been suffering from stage 4 oligo metastatic cancer for the last 8 months. As if losing her father to cancer was not enough for her. Being a single mother of a daughter and having a 70-year-old mother who is dependent on her, she has many responsibilities.
In her caption, she mentioned that this post is not about pain, it’s about love and strength. The love her family and friends showed towards her was unexpressable. They never let her feel that she is alone.
Even with the heavy weight she carries, Chatterjee finds great strength and comfort in her friends and family. She also expresses her gratitude to this sisterhood for their fierce love and unwavering strength, and the understanding they offer her is the reason she can manage to get through this tough time.
On her Instagram post, both industry and fans show their love. Dia Mirza warmly commented, “We love you, Tan Tan. You are our very own warrior princess.” Also, Konkona Sen Sharma said, “You are just incredible and inspiring! Love you.”
