Actor Alia Bhat recently hosted her first charity Hope Gala in London. She organised the event to raise funding for children in India through the Salaam Bombay Foundation.

The event witnessed several great personalities, including musician Harshdeep Kaur, comedian Rohan Joshi, and director Gurinder Chadha.

Alia donned a beautiful vintage ivory saree designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The designers took to social media and shared pictures of Alia in the saree, giving a brief description of the saree in the caption.

The designer stated that the saree was handwoven in 1994-30 years ago and took 3500 hours to be made. The saree is embroidered with different stitches and has silk threads. They further wrote that The garment features Resham, silver Zari and crystals along with flowing strings of pearls that form the back. An ode to the luxury of Resham, the dazzle of crystals, the decadence of Zari and the regal charm of pearls, the masterpiece represents the quintessential maximalism of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.”

Alia also dropped a video where she can be seen singing Ikk Kudi from her movie Udta Punjab with singer Harshdeep Kaur. Alia sang a version of this song that was composed by Amit Trivedi in Abhishek Chaubey’s film ‘Udta Punjab.’

The actress captioned the post and wrote, “I had the great pleasure of hosting an evening that was truly special, brimming with so much love, purpose, and hope. Thank you @mo_hotels for bringing our vision to life, and to @salaambbayorg for empowering and supporting young lives, providing them with what they need for a brighter tomorrow. HOPE GALA 2024.”

Alia also showed up at the event wearing an elegant gown, complementing it with a blue sapphire diamond necklace worth Rs 20 crore.
