Unfortunately, the 17 January procession which was scheduled for devotees to catch a glimpse of Ram Lala’s new idol has been cancelled. However, the change of plans includes a tour of the new idol within the premises of the Ram Janmabhoomi on the same date. Meanwhile, this decision was taken by the senior administrative officials and Acharyas of Kashi, keeping in view the concerns raised by the security agencies regarding crowd management. Along with it, this prolonged decision highlights the security concerns of citizens while ensuring a safe environment before the eve of the grand Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, taking place on January 22, 2023.

According to the city’s district administration, the crowd will include devotees and pilgrims who can turn unmanageable and will travel to Ram Janmabhoomi to join the procession for a darshan of “Ram Lala’s new idol.” Nevertheless, later, a darshan inside the premises has been scheduled for the same.

Earlier, the officials announced the Sanctum Sanctorum of Ram Mandir had been completed which followed a decision to have a “Pran Pratishtha ceremony” on January 22. Meanwhile, dozens of eminent personalities including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bollywood’s Diva Alia Bhatt have been invited to the auspicious occasion.

With less than 15 days left in the ceremony, the officials have announced initiating a helicopter service soon as a large number of crowds and devotees are expected to visit the pilgrimage. Nevertheless, there has not been a declared date yet and it is expected to start before January 22nd.

In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to light ‘Shri Ram Jyoti In their houses and celebrate Deepavali on January 22, the same date when the Pran Pratishtha Ceremony will take place in the grand temple of Ayodhya.
