BRS MLA Lasya Nanditha Dies in a Car Accident in Hyderabad

Bhartiya Rashtra Samiti MLA Lasya Nanditha died in a car accident in Hyderabad on February 23. Lasya was travelling in an SUV that lost control and collided with a metal road barricade. The accident occurred on the Sultanpur Outer Ring Road (ORR) in the district of Aminpur mandal, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, and she suffered severe injuries.

As per reports, she was going to attend KCR’s event in Hyderabad. The police arrived at the scene of the accident and took her body into an ambulance. She later died in the hospital. The driver involved in this tragic accident is critical and injured badly; he was taken to a private hospital nearby.

Lasya Nanditha was a 37-year-old first-time MLA representing the Secunderabad Cantonment constituency. Nanditha carried forward the legacy of his father, former BRS legislator G. Sayanna. After his father’s death, she entered politics and later, in November 2023, got elected as MLA of the party and defeated G. Vennela, daughter of revolutionary Balladeer Gaddar.

Before being elected as an MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment in the 2023 Telangana assembly elections, she served as a corporator in the Kavadiguda ward.

Nanditha survived a similar road accident on February 13 with minor injuries after attending a public rally of BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. A drunk driver with a white car ran into her vehicle, resulting in the death of her home guard while returning to Hyderabad.

Later, she tweeted and stated that she was involved in a road accident on her way back from Nalgonda. She said there was nothing to be worried about and showed gratitude towards people who were concerned and supportive.

Senior BRS leader KT Rama Rao took to X and expressed condolences to the late MLA Lasya Nanditha on her sudden demise.
